Will I be able to see Dr. Bishop for blood work requisitions?
All patients who are following our Path to Lightness plan get bloodwork requisitions issued at the beginning and end of the plan. Dr. Bishop will review the results with them, as part of our plan.
If you are checking in with us in a private session and you would like bloodwork done to check your metabolic health, we will send a requisition to you. Once completed you can book with Dr. Bishop and an RHN to review the results, receive advice and discuss next steps. These appointments cost $65.00/30 mins; $120.00/60 mins.
CAN Dr. Bishop prescribe medications for me?
Dr. Bishop can prescribe specific medications for weight management for current patients. Current patients are those who have a virtual or in person visit with our clinic at least 4 times per year. All other prescriptions should be issued by your family doctor.

Can couples attend the appointments together?
In the past we have allowed friends and family members to book appointments together and share the cost. Moving forward we ask that appointments are booked individually so that we can focus on you and your requirements, and make recommendations accordingly. A family member may attend your appointment with you for support, but we will focus each appointment on one individual.
Do you accept children/teens for SESSIONS AND YOUR 12 WEEK program?
Our services are open to adults 18+
Can I still come into your office to buy products if I’m not a patient?
Yes!
If I’m on the Path to Lightness plan and I’m not happy with it can I switch to private sessions?
Yes, you can cancel at any time. We charge a cancellation fee of $100 and workbook fee of $85, and do charge for sessions already attended.
What is your cancellation policy and fee if I miss a private session?
We ask that you give us 24 hours notice to cancel your appointment. After that time the cost of the appointment will be charged.
Will you continue to perform lapband fills and Defills?
Yes, Dr. Bishop will continue this service. Fees are $75 for a fill, there is no charge for a defill.
Do you have a maintenance plan?
Maintenance is much like weight loss - different individuals have very different requirements and there isn’t a one size fits all approach. Our Registered Holistic Nutritionists are available to work on maintenance tweaks and provide ongoing accountability through our private visits.
What results can I expect?
If our plan is followed we see:

How are you delivering your new plan? Do I have to come in to the office?
All our appointments can be in person or virtual (telephone or video). The choice is yours.
Do you offer exercise plans?
No, but we can go through recommendations for you based on your current level of activity and equipment
Will my insurance cover your services?
Our Registered Holistic Nutritionists may be covered under your extended health plan.
I do not have OHIP, I have Bluecross. How does payment and reimbursement work?
We will be very happy to provide you with paperwork to submit to your insurer. We require payment upfront for our services.
Will I be able to get statements for insurance or taxes at the end of the year?
You will receive an email receipt per visit with us, please save these for your tax submissions. We do not provide a print out at the end of the financial year. We can reissue the email receipts if you no longer have them.
Will you still post new recipes and motivational letters on your website?
Yes!
I still have your old book, can I pay for an ad hoc session and go through that plan?
Yes. Our Private sessions are for individuals who want to lead the session, or who have medical conditions that require specific instruction. Perhaps you have been with us for a while and just need to check in periodically to stay on track. The private sessions are patient led versus our Path to Lightness Program which is a program with each week requiring specific instruction, reflection, education and homework.
